Our experience is limited to what we are aware of.

Our mind is capable of existing simultaneously in the past, the present, and the future.

Our desires are capable of influencing our life by defining the finer contours of our priorities and values.

Who we list as our best friends in our life changes depending on our current goal.

What we see is what we do, especially when we are passively watching television or surfing the Web and not paying close attention to the messages bombarding us.

Life is full of situations in which cooperation would expand the pie to be shared if only a way could be found to cooperate without being exploited.

In real life, however, you don’t react to what someone did; you react only to what you think they did, and the gap between action and perception is bridged by the degree of your prejudices.

People’s judgments about their present state are based on whether it is better or worse than the state to which they have become accustomed.

Just as plants need sun, water, and good soil to thrive, people need love, work, and a connection to something beyond themselves.
